Solved What is InitJsonInSvc.dat?

[TDKMate]

While doing ‘maintenance’ on my wife’s computer, I noticed a ‘Temp’ folder under C:\.

It contains two files:
InitJsonInSvc.dat
InitJsonOutSvc.dat

Both are 1KB in size and dated yesterday, 5.12.17.

I Googled “what is InitJsonInSvc.dat” and some are reporting this as bad malware/virus. Not sure how a 1KB .dat file could be a virus, but I ran an AV scan anyway, as well as a MalwareBytes and Malicious Removal Tool scans as well. All came up clean.

There are also no programs installed that start with ‘Init…’ so nothing to uninstall there. Also there are no 'Init...' processes or services running either.

So I’m on my computer now and have the same files.

Both systems are running just fine.

Any ideas on where these files came from? Are they OK?

You hit the proverbial nail on the head, Callender! Yes, Avast is installed on both machines, and yes again, once I found the version number, it does say: Avast 17.4.2294 (Build 17.4.3482.0)

The funny thing here is that one of the things I Googled was "product version 17.4.3482.0" but no results given.
