What preventing my pc from Sleep/hibernate

My lap is lenovo y580 and i'm struggling how to solve the problem. I allways gettin' BsOD when pc trying to go sleep or hibernate. Win 7 x64. I've tried to reinstall lenovo energy managment but same thing. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advice.

I don't know your PC type, but if you have to much memory installed Hibernation won't work.
Some 4GB is the maximum supported size.

Some powersupplies don't support hibernation either.

Thanks for warm welcome i will try about hibernate but for a sleep mode what to do? actually before everything was good but suddenly my win started to crash whenever they want to put into sleep mode or when im trying it manual to do. Screen goes black and hard drive thinking after couple moment i getting BsOD. any suggestions?

But if for instance i have lotta important programs which i hardly won't get i will loose them after restore. So thats why im trying to find solution

Hibernation can drive you into trouble especially whit h a power-dropout.
Windows writes the whole mem. content to the drive, but this fly by option is destroyed with a powerdropout or another failure like disk-problems. Run Control disk and repair.

Hibernation is not completely safe.
Only to be used when it's 'temporarily.

That is not true...

Hibernation will NOT lose the Windows session if the power goes out.
Sleep WILL lose the Windows session if the power goes out.

HYBRID SLEEP is the best of both worlds - it Sleeps and Hibernates.
With Hybrid, if the PC is sleeping and the power goes out, it will resume from Hibernate.
