What security setup do you have?

Windows Firewall, MSE, Default UAC. It's caught everything that I've thrown at it. :D

Im currently using Norton Internet Security 2010 Beta, but apparently Symantec have started releasing compatibility patches to the 2009 products and they have been updated Norton 360 3.0 users to 3.5 which is compatible with Win7.
Rollout started yesterday and they said they will slowly roll it out to see if people report any bugs etc...

Eset Smart Security 4, UAC and Windows Defender disabled. I recently tried a beta version of ZoneAlarm, which I used to like prior to Windows 7, but now I somehow hate it! So, I'm gonna stick to Eset.

And, of course, I'm behind a hardware firewall.

I have the same router and firmware. Have you ever experienced that it won't let go of dns config? I had it set to use opendns, and then turned it off - but it still uses opendns, and not the dns provided by my cablemodem via dhcp. Probably some setting im not aware of.

I found that windows defender is included in ultimate, didnt know it until i viewed the control panel as small icons lol =)

Btw, the ones using avira free - do you have issues updating lately?

Norton 2010 free trial and intend to change to Kaspersky when that expires (which I am running on another computer and pretty happy). Any opinions on Kaspersky? Nobody listed it. After that free trial expires I have a free copy of Panda. Yes, I am cheap... But I have been out of trouble so far.
Also, I see several people listing MSE. Are you all one of the chosen 75,000 or is there still ways to get it from MS? I don't want to get it somewhere else, who knows what is in there.

EDIT AGAIN: Sorry to mention, I use COMODO SecureDNS. Love it. Blocks your connection from connecting to bad host ex: host with malware

I use Kaspersky Internet Security since KIS 7. I have now KIS 9 (2010) and before I was using Norton NIS. Never had a problem with this two.
Kaspersky is the best right now and NIS 2010 coming right after since they made it better on resources consumption. Go for Kaspersky(KIS), it has everything you need in security.

if the pop up is really an issue for you, you might want to check this out:

How to Remove the Popup Ads in Avira Antivir - wikiHow

Steps for Windows 7 :

  1. Go to Administrative Tools > Local security policy or type "local security policy" in start menu search.
  2. right Click on Software Restriction Policy > Create new restriction policy.
  3. right click on additional rules > new path rule in Software Restriction Policy.
  4. Click Browse and navigate to C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\ and double-click avnotify.exe.
  5. Set the security level to Disallowed.
  6. Click apply and OK.

as for this thread, I should be posting my current security setup soon
