What the fffff!

Can anyone tell me what the above refers to, as some searches seem to reckon it is virus related?

If I do need to remove it, are there any other keys that need to go too? Instructions how will be appreciated.

Provide more info ? What does this eror do ?

Have you run a thorough AntiVirus check with your AV prog? Does it turn up anything?

Have you looked inside that key to find any clues as to what it is related to?

I never recommend deleting registry items without knowing what they are related to and whether they are part of a useful process or program.

From what I found on the net you have a bug.
Download the Free version of Malwarebytes.
http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Install. Open and then run the updater. Then do a Full Scan.
If prompted to delete a bug do so.
When finished running a Notepad log file will be made. Save to desktop or a convenient location and up load the file in your post.

What else is needed about my system specs, that could be relevant?

It is not yet an error: it's a registry entry that looks odd.

Ran Avira Antivir last night and this evening and nothing found.

However M'bytes found FakeMS see log, but fffff has been on cptr before, whilst FakeMS has never come to notice of M'bytes to my recollection. So coincidence?

Just leave it be. It isn't going to harm anything by having it.

You have a Trojan the Fake MS but it appears you didn't remove it.

Re run Malwarebytes and remove it then you should be good.
Unless you already removed.
Log says no action taken.

As far as the ffff I found the same as you it is either a virus or it isn't. Malwarebytes was the suggested remover. So evidently it is just a registry write not the virus.

Click on your "User CP" at the top of this Forum and in the left hand pane you will see "Edit System Specs" Click this and fill in the details. If you don't know all the details download something like Belarc Advisor that will scan your PC and give very full details of all your hardware.
