What the heck is going on?

My computer has been acting really funny lately. For starters when ever I move/make a new folder I ether have to wait 10 seconds for it to show that I did it or I have to press F5. This happens after updating to Dell A10 (I think) BIOS version.
My hard drive also makes a lot of funny noises (so im suspecting hard drive failure).
My screens also will randomly turn green and i will have to restart. When booting up from sleep mode, my screens will sometimes not turn on and I will have to force shut down - that results in a BSOD and then I reboot again and I can finally get on my desktop. Any ideas on what I could have?

Those funny noises makes me suspect hard drive.
Back up your stuff, now
Then take a hard drive test and find out the results.

Hi,

The first thing I can suggest is to reset your folders.

Open Explorer, click 'Organize' -> 'Folder and Search Options' then click the 'View' tab.



Next, try accessing the BIOS then choosing to set the 'Defaut' settings. Then, try updating your GFX drivers to the latest version.

Finally, it sounds like your HDD is on it's last legs

I just scanned my hard drive with dskchk and it found 100's of errors and corruptions.

@Orbital Shark I cant reset the folders, and I have yet to go into the bios.

You seem to have answered your own question, here. Have you tried reverting back to a point before the update?

That would reset the last installed BIOS to its default values. I think he would have to flash the bios using an older downloaded version.
However I doubt if the BIOS is at fault. Even a thrashing drive should not be that loud. Hard Drive noise is always a bad sign. Rich46 is giving good advice. BACKUP NOW.
