Solved whats better a monitor or tv/monitor setup

hello I have a question and I have tried reading up on this but does not answer my question , right now I have a 24inch lcd/led tv/monitor 720p highest resolution I can get is 1360x768 but I do have a 23inch monitor that gets 1920x1440, so I cant decide what one will have the better screen to use, I mostly read, write , and sometimes what videos, and play games from facebook on it..

I would go with the 23" monitor to get the higher resolution unless you sometimes watch DVDs. DVDs can sometimes look better on a TV monitor as opposed to a computer monitor when the DVD is being played on a computer. Beyond that, I don't know if there are any benefits to using the TV monitor.

i am using a 32 inch sony hdtv tv and i really like it .
i had to because my eyes are really bad with age

One would think the 1920x1440 23inch monitor would give a better picture. Aspect ratio seems to be the thing these days though so I guess it depends on what you are watching on said device. I would be interested in what you think is the better device. I just switched to Bell Aliant fiber op. The set top boxes all have HDMI outputs so I'm wondering why even buy a TV? The built in tuner will never be used so why not just use a monitor with 1080P or better resolution?

i check the same web sites and a few videos with each monitor and i did not notice that much difference with either one they both looked the same to me, maybe others might have seen a difference but i did not.. i could read word s on both with out any blurring or shadows of the texts as i have read will happen with a tv/monitor setup... and i did run both at 60hz not sure if that makes any difference as the computer monitor i can run at a higher hz.. but not really sure what the hz would do....

As far as I know refresh rate doesn't matter with an LCD screen like it does with a CRT. The LED is either on or off, it doesn't ever refresh so higher isn't better. The only advantage I've seen, if you can call it that, is that a TV of the same resolution as a monitor is usually bigger. Is bigger better in this case? I'm not sure? You get into that close up or from a distance thing? High resolution monitors are nice close up. But if you are watching TV from a distance a bigger screen may be just as good with the same pixel density.
