If you are having problem booting into your laptop try use this its quite good and it has previously helped me.

Max,
When running scans are you doing the "Full Scan" which takes a lot of time for each one?
MBAM usually takes over an hour.
SAS about the same time.

Yes I usually run ful scans atm I am running full scans using SAS,MBAM,and Microssoft safety scaner in safe mode. When it is done I will try ur recommendation thanks for your help. Also it looks like its a problem with my registry cuz I remember I used ccleaner to fix registry errors and then that's when the spam started showing up.

If you used CCleaner registry tool without backing up, as it gives you that option,
you may want to try a system restore back to when thing were running smoothly.
Never run any registry cleaner unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Yes I learned my lesson and ur right I did not back it up and I will try restoring after the full scans are done in safe mode.

And I don't have any cds :/

GDATA rocks! I've been using it for 3 years now, it has the highest detection rate, though it 'uses much resources' , but who cares?
Please add GData to the list, it should be at the first place. lol

I have used AVG since they begain, I have not had any problems with viruses since I have been using AVG.
Everyone has a programme that they perfer. The best way to find the anti-virus program that suits you is by trial and error.

I have been using AVG for years but have just discovered that they have moved their tech support to an Indian call centre. Their support is now being handled by Virgin Digital Help. Being hard of hearing, I cannot understand what they are saying especially when the technician has an Indian accent too. I have been unable to contact anyone in the UK. I sent an email saying I wished to cancel my licence and get a refund but even that email was returned as unknown.

I am now looking for a first class Anti Virus programme, one which provides English telephone tech support and operates out of the UK.

I have been using Mcafee Total Protection since I got a laptop, It runs smoothly and efficiently on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.
It has a brief friendly interface with many functions, and you can make rules that decide whether a program can have internet access or not, also can arrange the LANs or WiFi you'd accessed in.
It works pretty nice , except for some dictatorial measures for plug-ins of games.
I once developed a Map Hack of War3 using the C++ 6.0Dev , It was segregated as I finishing compiling..
Well,that only happened in old version, the version 2011 Total Protection do have a choice of your own,that means,you can take risk of software.
It nice to share views with u guys..

I personally use Bitdefender....it's the best solution and you won't be needing anything else installed, as it removes malware and adware and trojans. I've had it for past 3 years and wouldn't use something else!

using a Linux OS :huh:
No need for AV programs. Use it in dual boot mode with W7.
Use the Linux OS for surfing and mailing. Switching from one OS to the other is pretty quick. I am still not doing it myself all the time but slowly but surely i will.
I am getting sick and tired of having to watch out for all these viruses, etc.
Online protection, updating and scanning (takes time too and is inconvenient) and still not safe.

PS. Before attending this 7 forum i was and still am at the forum of Linux Mint (forums.linuxmint.com). Some people there and now probably here too can just about drink my blood . My point is always that both OS have their advantages and disadvantages.
So why not point them out and discuss them? Would be interesting to have some cross fertilization between the two where only people who use both systems can have their say
(with a maximum of 300 words so everyone has to think clearly about what (s)he is putting down on "paper". Anyone wants to start it?

Switching can get tedious for some, and I don't want to reboot my computer every time I need to use the bloody "internets." One moment I watch a movie or play a game, then I feel like spending two minutes on the web. There's no way I'll spend my precious time switching OS's for two minutes on the web.

Anyway, apologies for that pointless paragraph. It's just irritating to have a Linux user come to a WINDOWS ONLY forum and start preaching us about his opinions.

I as of now, am infected with a bloody browser hijack. I've tried many free antivirus products, no success. Even Malwarebytes has failed me. I'm running COMODO Firewall and need a compatible "good" antivirus.

If you are using microsoft's IE have a look at this:

Or try a scan with Microsoft Support Emergency Response Tool. Download it to documents/downloads (it is removed after 10 days but the download is always up-to-date). It is big (72 MB).
