whea-logger event 18

Yesterday I started to get freeze on my computer mainly while playing video game or doing things related to video hardware.

I'm suspecting a graphic card failures here, however, I can still play some games and it will work well under severe conditions and sometimes the computer just freeze up, everything locked.

I get this message : whea-logger event 18 in the windows event viewers.

I must mention that the freeze end up with BSOD report but there is no BSOD screen.

I'm on a portable so I can't check your system info right now.
Traditionally a WHEA error is a hardware level error though.
Meaning something is wrong physically with a component in the computer.

Hopefully someone on a actual computer will drop by here for you.

Okay dump file is saying hardware... which doesn't really surprise me.
If you are not running a overclock the only thing I can really think to do now is start stress testing components.

that will cover ram and cpu (memtest should be left running overnight)

The only other possibility here is drastically out of control antivirus or firewall software causing hardware level interrupts.

Would it be possible that the RAM voltage is not set high enough ? I know my ram isnt faulty. The processor is also suposed not be faulty. It has never been overclocked and it passed prime test pretty well upon installation 3-4 weeks ago.

I know thought, that my ram manufacturer told me to set the voltage between 1.85 volt and 1.95 volt. I set it at 1.87 volt...

I'm clueless. Could a clean windows 7 installation with up to date drivers fix this problem ?

When this happenned, I had deamon tools virtual drives actives. (4 of them) I've been told this could also cause BSOD while gaming. I removed Deamon Tools virtual drives and closed it off.

The ram was fully tested on memtest86+

No worry about the ram here, it isnt faulty. Trust me I've already went throught many problem with rams...that's the main reason I joined this forum more than 1 years ago. I know the procedures.

If I'm asking on this forum that is because all normal procedures of verifications didnt give me any answers.

in the last 24 hours I played 2 hours of Company of heroes and 2 hours of league of legends and nothing happenned. I also listened a 2 hours movie in 720p on my hooked up HDTV and nothing failed.

Strange.

ugh that's my bad, I should have noticed daemon tools on the list of drivers. (it's a known problem causer around here as well)
You should run the uninstall feature with this to make absolutely sure all the daemon tools components are off the system.
Once the program is removed run the SPTD removal tool. DuplexSecure - Downloads

Thanks for you help again, I'm gonna run this.

No BSOD since I removed all the virtual drive. I never expected deamon tools to cause that kind of problem :/

It seems to be specific to certain hardware configurations, I personally have used it the entire time I've had win 7 without issue.
I have seen it render friend's machines practically unusable though.

We see the same thing with certain AV's and win 7 too.
