According to the site below and a few others, the template folder is at

BET: Microsoft Word Templates - Normal.dot
C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\

I'm using Windows 7 64 bit and there is no Document and Settings Folder in Windows 7.

I can't find a Templates Folder in App Data either.

Please help, thanks.

Too many to describe...
OS
Windows 7 x64 pro/ Windows 7 x86 Pro/ XP SP3 x86
Under Windows 7 x64 the location is here:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\

Then save the file with with .dotx extension. Like Mytemplate.dotx

Now when you open up Office 2010 (or higher I'm assuming) when you click File | New

Look under the Red Person Icon that says My templates, you should see your document listed there.

You should be able to use this as you would any document but it will contain the settings you want for this document. Just remember to save this new file as a .docx file under a new name.

Thanks.
