Where to Install

Hi Guys

I noticed there are two folders inside [ My Computer ] for installing programs

1) Program Files
2) Program Files (x86)

Into which Directory do I install all of my programs ! Because so far the programs that I am installing seem to choose a folder by random ! ( so I feel )

PS. I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate.

welcome to 64bit windows!

64 bit programs will install themselves into the programs file folder, and 32 bit software lives in the x86 folder.

the os and installer should know which folder to install into, stick with the defaults.

I honestly thought that all this time I was on the 32bit version .. I checked now and I'm actually on the 64bit

Is that OK .. or will I have more problems with the 64bit version ?

64 bit is the future, so live tomorrow today!

is everything working fine at the moment?

if so, good! i would stick with 64 bit unless you start having problems.

so long as you have the correct drivers installed, all should be hunky dory.
