guys, my question is, which is better? tuneup utilities or uniblue powersuite? i know some say that the programs that come with 7 is enough to maintain it but based on my experience (from 98 to xp), i say it is not enough.. could someone give me their opinion on this? or better yet, recommend something better.. :D

First of all, dont base your expectations on your experience with XP ... Based on our experiences with Windows 7 show that use of these "optimizers" cause way more problems than they are worth... You would be better served by imaging your system as soon as you set it up the way you want it... that way if something DOES go wrong, you can restore your system to that "just installed" condition... Hope this helps... ;)

based on my experience, none of these programs do any good to my computer! but for disk defragmentation i recommend auslogics disk defrag as its so fast and also very effective!
Oh and its free too! i use it very often!

I definitely concur with this. Win7 has become refined enough that your really ought to be able to set it up and just use the thing. As Tews said, once you have a stable installation make an image backup so you can return there without having to do a rebuild. Then just use your machine.

I used to spend way too much time micromanaging my systems. It just isn't necessary any more. I (and I suspect you) have better things to do than to constantly be tweaking the O/S. Just let it do its job.

My 2-cents.
