Why are there so many Windows updates

I had a problem where I couldn't install updates correctly. It wouldn't configure windows updates and the updates would stay there. I fixed it but every time I scan for updates it give me like 10 new updates. What is wrong? All of this that is happening is on my new PC. How do I stop these every minute updates?

Hi Valcorx, welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

You mention that this is happening on your new PC. Have you very recently installed Windows 7 & if so you will have a lot of updates to install. Usually the installation DVD was made sometime ago & in the meantime there have been a huge number of updates, which are necessary to bring the system up to the current level of security & improvement.

Keep running the Updates until there are no more. Usually there will be some requested restarts, so run those & then check for Updates again.
