Toshiba laptop, Windows 7 Ultimate x86, RTL8187b WiFi NIC.
Clean install.
Opening a new site is working ok and fast, when clicking on a link on the website, I get a very slow response or a time-out...When I do the same thing at the same time on a wired computer or/and on a Ipad (wireless), the page opens normaly....
I've disabled the windows firewall. I've tryed several browsers (IE8/9, Chrome and Firefox), but all act the same... Tryed different drivers for the NIC...
When I connect the laptop wired, all is ok....
It happens on different websites on different times and moments....Opening the site works fine, so DNS should be ok.
Any ideas?

Have you checked with your ISP to see if there are any problems with Wireless ? Do you have the latest drivers for your NIC ? There are a lot of factors that can interfere with a wireless connection and cause problems, do you use a router or is this when you are out and about using hot spots ?

Can you post back with more details about your set up, like what AV do you use, what other security programs do you use, how old is the machine and did it come with Windows 7 or did you upgrade from another OS.

I'm sure one of the experts will be able to help you when you give them more details, I'll just say Welcome to the forum and hang in there for a while until someone else sees your post.;)

I connect to my own AP, at the moment of problems, other devices (like my Ipad) have no wireless problems.
The system is a Toshiba of 1,5 years old, upgraded from Vista. I Already tryed different drivers, icluding the latest from realtek.
I use Avast! as AV, but with Avast! disabled, the problems stay....

How many telephone sockets do you have and do you know which one is the first one that is connected to the outside telephone line? If so, make sure the wireless router is connected to that one.

Make sure you have a microfilter connected to each telephone socket.

Check your router settings and in particular which channel you're using. I recently changed mine from Auto to Ch 6 and have experienced no more dropped connections.
