Will i lose pictures and videos with system restore

Hi all, new here and I have a question. I had to wipe my entire hard drive due to a number of problems, and my system restore had somehow been turned off. So we did. I have finally gotten all my files and programs back on my computer and created several new restore points. I just finished uploading all my pictures and videos back to my libraries.

Now here's the question. If I were to use one of the previous restore points that was created before i uploaded all my pictures and videos will I lose them?

Thank you for the quick response. May I ask another windows 7 question? Obviously, you know from above I wiped my entire drive. So I literally had an empty computer. When I first got all my OS and all basic programs reloaded on my desktop, my CPU meter was only showing like 15-17% usage of RAM. Since then I have had to install in total about 300 system updates to bring my OS back up to date. Now my CPU says I'm using 32% of RAM at idle meaning just turned on with my desktop showing. I mean I have eight GB so we're only talking a little over 2 GB. Still though. That seems like a lot just to run the OS. Thanks for your help.

A RAM usage of 2GB for an 8GB RAM is pretty normal. I would not worry about it. Win7 does a pretty good RAM management job and it is not XP. Why would you use less RAM and save the rest for a rainy day. The more RAM you use the faster the system will run.

If you want a more detailed picture, look into Resource Monitor > Memory tab.

As whs said system restore will not overwrite your pictures etc. It would be safer to back up them to an external disk then, if you have a problem, it is a simple job to restore them. You can either use windows own backup for this or a free third party program like FreeFileSync (link in my signature). You should also make images of your system to an external hard drive. You can either use the Windows built in imaging or a free third party program such as Macrium Reflect (link in my sig) then you won't have to spend so long reapplying updates.
