Win 7 & BlackArmor HDDs. Anybody else have a problem?

I recently plugged in my Maxtor BlackArmor portable USB HDD to do some backups for the first time under Win 7, and I had to do a system restore and a re-install of Norton IS to get my system back.

It works fine on my Vista laptop, but it completely trashed Win 7. I followed the instructions exactly, and did the same thing as I do with my laptop, but it was just a mess all around.

Has anyone else had a problem using one of these drives under Win 7 x64? It seemed like a driver issue to me, but I was really afraid to try again and sort it out in case I really borked my system.

Same issue... works fine on my laptop and other
PC's but not Win7 even though maxtor/seagate says it should... WTF???

Thanks for the link. It wasn't there when I looked a couple of months ago. I'll give it a try.

Just looked in depth. They say it works but it isn't tested and supported by tech support. No wonder it was on sale. Here's a link to the knowledgebase page:
