Win 7 cannot be repaired

Hello,

I have win 7 installed on my laptop along Ubuntu desktop 10.10. My laptop fell from my bed (:D), but it wasn't really a hard bump - it fell sideways. Anyway, after the hit, I tried to boot Windows 7 (the boot loader, grub, etc. are fine), but since then it keeps going into this recovery stage (Windows in loading files...) and when I try to fix it, I get this error: "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically". Then it asks me to send information to microsoft, and downwards there are these 'signatures': StartupRepairOffline, AutoFailover, signature 06: 7, signature 07: CorruptAcl.
The question is if I can restore my main system files (delete them all and add them again or sth like that - just like in win xp case). Any other suggestions are welcomed :)
Thanks.

P.S. I've also tried system restore, but it didn't work at all - regardless of the system restore points I selected.

Unlees you have a backup image - looks like a custom reinstall is the way to - assuming you have installation media.

I would be concerned that your HD may have damaged sectors from the fall :(

You can only replace all system files with a repair install - to do that, you have to be able to boot in first.

You could try checkdisk from the 7 recovery media.

Never mind, I've already begun a new install. There's no point in wasting time.
