Win 7 Explorer has just started displaying my hard drives sizes weirdly!
eg. Instead of showing 500Gb it shows as 500Gb with 86/*1 Free

Never done or seen this before.... In my PC, I have a 1.5Tb and a 500gb... The 1.5 Tb is split as 500gb (C) and 1000 gb as (D). Another 500Gb is shown as (E)

The (C) 500gb shows as 97/*4 Free - the 1000gb (D) shows as normally as 793 Free and the (E) 500gb is as mentioned above 86/*1 Free.

Has anyone come across this and what is the fix please?

Thanks.

A quick guess is that your regional settings are wrong. It seems like the decimal separator has been changed to /* instead of the normal . or ,.
Have a look at control panel => regional settings => additional configurations => decimal simbol.

Damn ...you are good! You were right and very fast in responding.
Like most others I would never thought of this being caused by regional settings..usually that's a 'set and forget' part of the pc enviro - never used again.
No idea how it happened as I have not been there - all the rest of the settings were correct other than those for Negative figures which also had the /

Top marks to you - much appreciated.
Thanks a million.
