Solved Win 7 Pro 64-bit, IPv4 missing from wireless ethernet settings

I have installed a wireless ethernet adapter on my Win 7 Pro 64-bit computer and the IPv4 item is missing from the ethernet settings. Only IPv6 exists.
In the wired LAN settings i can see the IPv4 and IPv6 items and the interface works fine. I replaced the wireless ethernet adapter with a different brand but the same item is still missing.
Have tried netsh interface IPv4 reset but it didn't work.
I can't think of anything else.

Failing that, a repair install may be required: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html

I have run the command twice but it didn't find any problems in the system files.

In that case, try a repair install if you have a Windows DVD.

Your personal files and applications are not affected, but you need to backup anything important first in case anything does go wrong.
