Win 7 reinstall

Hi oldaarpy,

Would a computer repair shop even be able to put win 7 on?

There seems to be a bit of confusion here. We need to know what version and bit type of Win 7 it is on the Product Key for the Dell E6430 Laptop!

You don't need to take it to a computer repair shop because we can provide the ISO you need to burn to a DVD or USB that will clean install the OS on the Dell E6430 Laptop.

If you click Start => right-click Computer => select Properties, it will give you the Win 7 version and bit type.

Paul, remember he doesn't have Win7 on the computer at the moment.

aarpy, if you found the product key label in the battery compartment, it should state on the label which Windows edition it applies to.

Once you determine the edition you can legally put on it, it's very easy to install Win7. I'm running Win7 Pro on my E6430. I've upgraded the memory and replaced the old HDD with a SSD, and it's faster and more responsive than most Win10 computers I've come across.

Before embarking on your project, make sure you download the Win7 drivers from Dell while you still have internet access.

I hope so....but all I'm getting from the new comp says Win 10. I have an old E6400 that has 7 on it so I'm familiar with Vista and 7. The 10 on the newer E6430 is either corrupted or I'm just lost and frustrated. There's crap on it that I can't get off even with Admin rights. Aarpy

Once we get the version and bit type of Win 7 on the Product Key for the Dell E6430 Laptop [the laptop that you want to clean install Win 7 on] we will provide you with the ISO that you need to burn to a DVD or USB for a clean install.

Yes..it's Win 7 Ultimate but I don't know the bit type. I would assume it's 64 bit as the CPU says 64 bit architecture. Aarpy

If you have got a Service Tag number then enter it here => Dell Service Tag Number. You should then be able to download the recovery image [or at least the drivers that you need]!

If not, I will show you how to download the last Windows 7 SP1 [Final] ISO [build 6.1.7601 - July 2009] for your version [Ultimate] and bit-type [x64].

Is the new AND old computer [that bought online] a Dell E6430?

The old comp is a E6400 the new is the 6430. I just fired up the 6430.

If you can get onto the Internet with the old bought online Dell E6430 and have the Service Tag number, then you should be able to enter it here => Dell Service Tag Number and get a recovery image [or at least the drivers that you need]!
