Hello all,

I have had an issue with updating Win7 and some other programs and have reached the stage where I need some assistance if possible please!

I have already done the following.......

Scanned with Agnitum outpost security suite pro - no infection.
Scanned with MBAM free on demand - no infection.
Scanned with superantispyware free on demand - no infection.
Cleaned with ccleaner and also the registry fix in ccleaner.
Defragged with Auslogics.
Run the SURF tool.
Run MS FixIt.
Scanned with SFC /scannow - no issues.

Here is what happens when I try MS windows update....

You appear to have Secunia PSI installed - while this is generally very good, it does introduce an extra layer of complexity.

Please uninstall it (at least until we have this problem solved).

Then try Windows Update again, and post the new windowsupdate.log file, and the new CBS.log file.

That's amazing! - I did just that last night to see what would happen.

Sadly the problem is still there, same issues and same error codes.

When the PC booted this morning a box appeared that said 'deleting'. It was there and gone in a flash.

I don't know if it's related or not so thought I'd mention it in case. I still wonder if it's undetected malware?

Hi NoelDP,

Thanks for that, .NET 4.5.1 removed and rebooted but .NET not reinstalled yet. (should I install 4.5.2 instead do you think???)....

Problem with update remains.....Here's the latest logs

NoelDP..

SUCCESS!!! :) :) :)

Windows update offered .net 4.5.1 and it installed correctly. Later it offered 3 security updates for .net and all installed correctly.

IT didn't offer silverlight and I have yet to miss it, so will leave it off until it's needed.

Secuina is back installed and a manual removal of VMware player finished off the task.

All seems OK now.

Thank you so much for the helpful pointers, it's easy when you know how! ;-)

Cheers.

After a few hundred attempts, you get to know what to look for! ;)

Glad we got it sorted.

Good luck!
