Win7 Professional won't save mouse settings

I have a Dell Latitude E6500 with Windows 7 Professional 64bit installed and I use a Dell optical USB mouse plugged into it while docked. However, whenever I set the mouse settings it will never save them! I have to set the pointer speed every time I reboot? Any idea why?

No i don't know what's wrong but have you tried reinstalling the mouse driver software yet?

I had the same happen. It was because I had stopped the driver in MSCONFIG so it didn't keep my settings. It took me a month to figure it out. Make sure the driver starts at boot.
