Win7x64 - repair corrupted files / folder

Unfortunately, all folders and files just got corrupted. I can still access all folders and also see the files, but I can no longer open them. The disk includes around 1,000 files of movies and photos.

The folders on the disk include a small "lock" symbol suddenly. No idea what this means.

I had run a chkdsk /f and chkdsk /r. Both finished without any errors. /r took almost a day to finish.

Thanks for any idea you may have!

One answer I found:

It means that the Users group doesn't have access to the folder. Adding even Read authority to the Users group will remove the lock.
