Looking for a good software that shows what is on my Win 7 machine like this one:
WinDirStat
It doesn't say that Win 7 is compatible with it.
I want to get rid of the bulk of the windows old folder, not all, but some of the more chunky files.

Thanks!

Windirstat is a great little program. Use it.

I love it and recommend it to anyone who wants to see their data in a visual way. It's great and compatible with 7.

Hi there
you might like this one (Treesize)

It displays similar sort of data but is easier to use and shows you more meaningful info IMO. Also works on W7 X-64.

Thanks I'll try Treesize after I get home. I like the way it looks. One thing I didn't like about windir is it's sorta big and gaudy...a lil to busy.
This looks more business and direct to the point.
Thanks!

Can I also volunteer my own utility, FileTreeView? It's based on the ideas presented in the perennial SequoiaView. I wrote it for a couple of reasons; SequoiaView fell over when pointed at my file server of several terabytes and millions of files and, if you pointed it at a folder, it still enumerated the entire disk.

You can download FileTreeView for free from FileTreeView – a SequioaView-like Application « Scott's code and other ponderings… and I'd appreciate any comments.

Regards
Scott

In WinDirStat, you can delete the files directly from there (to recycle bin or permanently). Not sure whether the other suggested programs can do that too.
