Windows 7 64 Bit constantly freezing

I have an E-machines EL1358-53 desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit OS.

The system seems to freeze up (no blue screen, just not responding), mostly when Windows boots up, or working on files through the network. I have tried to restore to previous date, and also wiped out hard drive and re installed windows. I do not really know what to do at this point, nor do i want to spend the money out of my budget to buy a new desktop.

I know this info will not be enough for anyone to give me an appropriate response, so what else do I need to post on here to help anyone out with my problem?

Do you know what your Hard drive speed is. Also how much ram dose your computer?

Those logs can help determine system errors and application errors that may indicate why your system is freezing.

@nckfrtg28 3 gb ram, 1TB green hard drive ( it says it has variable RPM)

writhziden, i have already done the hard disk check. seems like every time it comes up with new errors. the computer is not under the warranty anymore (it expired 2 days before this problem started happening, coincidence?)
