HI, I did a clean install of windows 7 64bit on my system today. And by clean I mean a very clean install. I wiped all the contents on my HDD. That is even as far as removing the partitions and redoing them in the settings I chose to run win7 on.

Anyhow, after the installation, which goes fine... my system doesnt boot. It simply shows the message saying a wrong system disk and to press CTRL ALT DEL to restart.

My system specs are:
Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz E6750
ASUS P5ND Motherboard
4GB DDR2 RAM
EVGA 9800GT 512MB DDR3

please help! does this suggest that my installation CD is corrupt or something? cos when i installed vista 64bit, it goes fine... boots up with no probs either.

Where did you get your iso for Windows 7?
What version of Windows 7 are you trying to install?
what speed did you burn your Win 7 iso at.
it is recommended to burn at 4x or slower.

I would also recommend to start with you DUAL Boot to be safe. Win7 is
NOT FINAL. yet

another forum same problem only he inserts his disk and when it read from the disk it continues to boot into Win 7 7100 RC (x64) , other info he also states he download his
copy via torrents.

I am trying to install win 7 64bit Ultimate.

Anyhow, I have come to find out that with the installation DVD in the system. It boots to win 7 just fine.

And if the DVD is not there.. the same errors comes up to me. So I thought this must be a boot related issue. So i went with the Disk Boot to win 7, and checked which OS are being listed in the Start & Recovery in the Advanced Systems Area.

And guess what? There is nothing there! How do I fix this?
