Last night Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (Eval Build 7100) was trying to do an update and failed. Tonight when I turned on, it said it could not start and was attempting repairs. When it started Thunderbird was gone!
Thank goodness, when I checked, my mail files are still here.
Hope this won't happen after I install the shiny new Windows 7 I bought today.
Your thoughts? Win7 problem, Thunderbird problem, or compatability problem? Or just plain unlucky (that would go with the rest of my day today)?
It was the result of a failed upgrade... Windows 7 does not like the taste of thunderbird and would not voluntarily consume one... Be sure to backup everything you value before you attempt the next installation....A clean install is recommended over an upgrade... Good Luck and welcome to SevenForums...

Thanks Tews.
I think it may have been a failed game install, as the same thing just happened again (when installing V8 Supercars 3) (except I hadn't got around to re-installing Thunderbird yet), even when running the install in XP compatability mode.
Ah well, fresh full install tomorrow. It all up from here!
