Windows 7 Automatically changes Appearance / Performance Settings

This issue has started a few weeks ago so could be heat related due to the summer; however my CPU and GPU don't go over 50c but still get the issue


Every so often, usually when under medium-heavy load, but not exclusively windows would change the settings so that my program windows and explorer windows etc would only show the boarders when moving the windows, when by default it would actually show the whole window. I would have to go into the appearance settings de-select "best performance" by clicking on a different setting and then going back to "best performance" and then clicking apply



How do i resolve this because its really annoying for me.

Please edit your profile with ALL your hardware specs.

Open device manager. Is there any yellow alerts of missing drivers?

- Schedule a disk check. (chkdsk c: /f). Reboot
- Open a CMD window and type sfc /scannow

May be memory beginning to fail. RAM and HDD/SSD test perhaps.

- Updated computer specs
- Did automatically fix file system error and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors
- SSD health at 96% according to hard disk sentinel

- No yellow alerts in device manager

Did check disk find bad sectors?
What about System File Check (sfc /scannow)?

It's difficult to say what's going on. I would say that you have an issue on the Graphics card and / or Graphics driver.
- Try to find out if it has been "updated" recently.
- Try to reinstall the Graphics driver.
