Windows 7 back-up/boot disk

I am preparing to buy a new system with win7 premium home installed. However, in the event of a crash (happened before) where would I get a Win 7 disk to reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive or computer. I have been told that you can create back-up disk, that take multipule disk. But if booting up a new hard drive, how would I reinstall the full version 7 operating ssytem?

From personal experience and from the comments of others, backup on disc does not usually work. You cannot use a flash drive either. The only real choice is an external HD or on a separate drive..

As well as the answers already given you should find out what is provided with the new machine that you buy. Some new purchases will come with a recovery disc that you use others will come with a hidden partition and quite often you have to make a set of restore discs from that.

So find out what the manufacturer of your new machine tells you to do when first getting the machine, and good luck with it you'll really like using Windows 7
