This is a brand new PC. It was working for some time and today I started receiving this message. I entered the product key on the side of the PC on the sticker, I got error code 0x8004fe33, Description: Unable to find a detailed error description. The Facility code is: ITF (0x04), facility error: 0xFE33 (65075L)

I downloaded MGADiag.exe like instructed from other posts, though when I hit run I get the attached photo.

If there are any suggestions on what else I can do please let me know.

I have NEVER seen MGADiag fail in that manner before!

Your SFC scan shows a number of problems....

I'll work up a fix for those and see where that gets us - back in a bit.

I've uploaded a file - rosxx.zip - to my SkyDrive at https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=936736BB8FCEB92F&id=936736BB8FCEB92F%21526
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
This should create a folder C:\rosxx

Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\rosxx
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\rosxx
or
DIR E:\rosxx

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\rosxx <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your SkyDrive Public folder, and post a new link

Also run a new MGADiag report, and post the result.

I attached the updated CBS logs. I still can not run the MGADiAG.exe file. I get the same error as I posted earlier. Though my windows is now genuine, I can't do a whole of stuff still.

Please try running CheckSUR and see if it comes back with anything....

Please download and save the CheckSUR tool from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
(you'll need to look in the details for Method 2)

Run it - The tool can take anywhere from 5 mins to a couple of hours to run (or 'Install') depending on how much it has to do, and may exit silently - it may appear to freeze for most of that time, but be patient.
The result is logged in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log file - and an archive …\checksur.persist.log file

Then zip the CheckSUR.log and attach in your reply.

Some interesting corruption present as well - The affected files are part of the basic Update for Windows Update, so it's not surprising that things came to a grinding halt.

I'll work on the fix for the CheckSUR files. and get back to you.

Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it ( Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Then reboot and run another SFC /SCANNOW, and post the new CBS.log file

I'll work on those - but I can't guarantee I'll manage it tonight, so give me 24 hours, then shout, in case I get distracted.

I've uploaded a file - roszz.zip - to my SkyDrive at https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=936736BB8FCEB92F&id=936736BB8FCEB92F%21526
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
This should create a folder C:\roszz

Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\roszz
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\roszz
or
DIR E:\roszz

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\roszz <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your SkyDrive Public folder, and post a new link

Also run a new MGADiag report, and post the result.
