I've never posted at one of these places before, so please forgive any etiquette related mistakes I make. I should also say that I'm not that great with computers, so it's possible I might not immediately understand suggests. :p I'm not at home right now, so I can't remember a few details, but I'm sure I could dredge them up later. Basically, this is my issue:

I connect to the internet wirelessly fine at home, using HP dv6 (something). No problems there. However, when I'm at my mother's house, the trouble begins. If I am the only one on the internet, it works. However, if another computer is using the network, mine drops out constantly and often refuses to connect for hours. Sometimes it reconnects and tells me it has 'limited' connectivity. When I diagnose the connection, it tries to tell me that the problem is with the wireless adaptor reaching the router. The network adapter is an Atheros something or other, and the modem is Billion something (sorry for the vagueness).

The router is password protected (WPA2-Personal), but I know that the details I'm using are fine.

The adapter driver is the most recent one possible.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks for your time!

Welcome to the forum Hedonistic, I'm sure that when the experts see your post they should be able to help.

Could you help them out by posting back with as much information as possible, like the make and model of the computers that are using the connection, the make and model of the router, what operating system do all the computers use and what firewalls and anti-virus programs are installed.:)

I know this may seem a lot of information to give but in the end it saves time if the experts have all the details at once instead of having to go backwards and forwards asking questions, your problem will be fixed much quicker then.:)

While you wait for more help can I suggest you have a look around the Tutorial section, there is a wealth of information and problem fixes in there. :)
