Hello. So, I have a problem. When I turned sleep mode on, on my notebook, after trying to wake it up, it starts working, but screen is black. I searched over internet for information which could help to solve my problem, and I tried it. Accidentally in msconfig.exe when I tried to fix problem, in Services tab I marked Hide all Microsoft services and I Disabled all of non-Microsoft ones. However it didn't help, and what is worse, all non-Microsoft services are gone. I can't turn them on again. And that sleep problem isn't gone yet. I thought about recovering my OS, but last Backup is 2 months old, and alot of stuff happened in that time. So could someone, please, help me? Fast help would be apreciated. Thanks in advance

Yes, I have one, but it's two months old. Is there any other way to fix that?

Windows usually creates restore points on a weekly basis, or at least every two weeks when updates are installed. Do you have all updates installed?

If your system is not creating restore points, check your restore point settings and see if you have enough space allocated:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/335-system-protection-change-disk-space-usage.html

If there is enough space, try creating a restore point to see if the protection is working as it should. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/697-system-restore-point-create.html

I would suggest backing up any important data and seeing if you can restore that restore point (most likely it is corrupt at this point; I would say restore points are only good for ~2 weeks before corruption can occur).

Thanks, I'll try to restore from the closest restore point which was created with update, but if I create one now, will my services come back and that sleep crash will disappear? And if I'll restore from last update's day, won't my all files disappear, or only those, which were created since that date?

Actually, my notebook now works like always, just that sleep problem and services. And I have tried to start one of those disappeared services. It works as always...

System restore will only affect programs and Windows files. It will not affect your user data. All the same, I would recommend backing up any important documents in case something unexpected happens. Hopefully the restore will resolve the sleep issues, but there are no guarantees.

Man, that didn't help. Sleep mode still doesn't works. Recovery didn't recovered Services, but before recovering, I found a way how to turn services on again. So that problem is fixed, I guess.

I used 10 days old System Recovery, which was installed with Critical Windows Update. Did I do everything right?

It looks like you did. Did you get a message that restore was successful upon restarting the computer and starting Windows again?

I would recommend you run a system files check.
