never had any DPC problems under windows xp at all
moved to windows 7 started getting dpc latency problems

have found the problem to be the CPU EIST setting in the BIOS
I know this is one of the worst offenders for DPC but as i have never had a problem
with this board under xp i am starting to think that maybe the power settings for
seven and EIST do not like each other

so my question is

does windows seven itself lower voltage and multi on cpus the same as EIST ?

reason am asking is that i have disabled EIST but still have CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) enabled

this Lowers the multi but i dont think it should lower the voltage (not capable )
but the voltage is still lowered when the multi is dropped ????

i would be grateful for any advice on the subject

thanks for the reply I have already been on the DPC site but it don't really answer why
the EIST Bios setting gives me bad latency in windows 7 but not at all in windows xp

now I have disabled EIST and my DCP and great now but as its a feature of the CPU
I can't help think the something can be done as its clearly not a motherboard problem
as it was find under XP

I'm also having DPC issues with Windows 7, but I was also experiencing them with Windows Vista. I'm curious as to how you tracked it down to a setting in your BIOS, as am having troubles tracking down what's causing mine. I've got the DPC Latency checker which solidified the fact that I am indeed having DPC issues, but it doesn't tell me where they are originating from.

I need to try xperf again, haven't installed it since I got Win 7.
