Windows 7 driver solution

If you can't load driver vista for windows 7, you can use DriverMax (Free, search by google) to backup driver from Windows Vista (Network, printer,Sound or Graphics cards...).Then set up windows 7 and restore driver.All is OK.

Using DriverMax
1, Download DriverMax - FREE driver download program for Windows XP & Vista .
2, Export Driver (best way is export all driver to "X" folder of D:\ or E:\ (not OS installation disk)
3, Install Windows 7
4, Import Driver from "X".
5, Wait and OK.

Thank you for your solution. It solved my GPU problem. DriverMax is now on my USB Drive of MUST INSTALL FIRST PROGRAMS.

so i exported my Nvida Network Adapter driver then i tryed importing from a folder i jusr callled x in my windows 7 (K:\Users\Doritofrito\x) butit isnt installing in windows 7 it seems like its trying to install on vista?

DF post this up in the same thread...
and please use the restore from driver max..(install it again)
and then point it to that folder...
it should show up then install

Correct - you cannot just try to install the drivers from that folder, nor can you install Driver Max and try to 'backup' your drivers again. You have to reinstall Driver Max in the new OS and then use Import, just as stated above.

If you're still having issues, please post back with exactly what is going on and exactly what you're doing.

Anyone know of a work around for a driver that is needed to install Win 7 x64 onto? In my case I have an old scsi controller, 39160, that I need to recognize so tha I can install W7 x64 on the disks behind it. The driver for this is working in Vista x64 and included on the install dvd. I also have this controller working with W7 x32 and have tried everthing I can think of. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Yes BFK, but the problem is with drivermax is you first have to have the OS intalled. I can't get that far as Win7 x64 won't recognize the controller during install.

OK, I'm here During installation, you'll be prompted to choose the partition to install to. Click advanced. Click load driver. Insert CD media with the required driver 32 and 64 bit and click next. Install should continue with the XP driver and allow you to update it when you get into 7.

Oh, I forgot -- if you're using 64-bit you need to make sure the drivers are signed!

I have a dual boot of XP and W7 going and can't connect to the internet or hear audio cause the drivers for my SiS 900 fast ethernet adapter and Realtek AC '97 audio card aren't being recognized. DL'ed DriverMax and got the new drivers installed. Exported them to x folder. I switched back to W7 and tried to open my already installed copy of Driver Max and had to resign up for the service, but because I can't get on the internet it won't let me and it can't verify my logon cause it needs the Internet! I know I'm doing something wrong so please help! Cuz I don't wanna spend money on a new ethernet card or sound card!

You don't need DriverMax to install the drivers you've exported. Open device manager on Windows 7 and select one of the devices whose drivers you need to load. Right click it and select update driver. Specify the location where you saved the drivers when prompted for where to search.

It wont let him install the drivers with DriverMax until he registers it and he cant register it until he gets his ethernet card driver installed. Catch 22.
