I have Windows 2008 R2 servers as my DCs. I create a group policy on the 2008 servers to map my network drives. In Windows XP it works great 100% of the time. In Windows 7 this is not the case. I can't see the drive letters in My Computer but if I go out to DOS and look using the net use command I can see the drive letters 100 % of the time. I can also see the drive letters within programs. I just can't see them within My Computer. I looked at the Reg setting for the following settings and they are not in play.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoDrives"=-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoDrives"=-

I can use My Computer and map to the network drive, click Reconnect at Login and the dirves then will show up for me each time I login. I have about 150+ Windows 7 machines out in the field and I need to deploy about another 300 or so soon but the drive letters not showing up in My computer is holding me back.

The net use command needs to be used twice, once in a non-admin cmd window then again in a admin command window. If not you will continually run into credential issues.

Maguscreed,

Looking at it in a non-admin cmd window then again in a admin command window did not make any change to the drive mappings, nor did I think that it would. I can see all my mapped drives in both windows. My issue is I can not see the mapped drives when I click on "Computer" I can see local drive but not my Network Locations.
