Windows 7 error? ID_MSG_configerror2

I've just gotten bit unistalling a bunch of unwanted downloads and the uninstaller went too far. Now some programs need to be reinstalled and I've run into an error called ID_MSG_CONFIGERROR2. I can't seem find anything anywhere on this error. Is it a Win 7 error? The program calling for it is Calendar Creator 12. Thanks for any detective help!

Downloads are not uninstalled, they are deleted. Did you uninstall programs?

Please tell us what you're doing when you get the error and it's exact text.

Thanks for responding. My problem has morphed into a baffling one. Several programs got corrupted and I've reinstalled them. One, however, (the old MS Encarta 3006) will not reload because it says the program is already installed on my machine. I've rigorously uninstalled and delected every trace of this program I can find both with Revo Uninstaller and in the registry where I found a couple of entries. I can find NO trace of this program anywhere but the install disk still says it's installed. I'm really puzzled. Any thoughts how to fix this. I love this old Encarta which is no longer supported and hate to give it up. Thanks!

See if you can System Restore to a point before the uninstalls were done. You should have this vital function turned on and apportioned as much HD space as you can afford: System Protection - Change Disk Space Usage.

If not then this might be time to consider getting the vastly superior Clean Reinstall which steps are the same for retail to get and keep a perfect install. If done correctly it's almost always better than getting a new PC.

Thanks Gregrocker! I've also messed up my System Restore somehow because i've been trying so many steps to get around the unwanted crapware. Your suggestion of Clean Install is a really good one that I'll try shortly. What are the risks of messing that up? My track record right now is not very reassuring! I'm somewhat computer experienced but I'm ill right now and not thinking very clearly. Many thanks for your reponse and suggestion!

If you'll stick with the tools and methods in the tutorial ONLY, then you can be assured of getting and keeping a perfect install. We're here to help you so you don't have to guess at anything.

First 2 steps are complete now and I'm ready to back up stuff. I've got a smaller SSD drive for a C: drive with most of my programs and data on other drives or in Dropbox so that's covered. There are a few programs and of course...settings.....remaining on my C drive. Should I just make a Macrium Reflex copy of that drive and try to access stuff after the new install? How much of the old stuff will actually work in the new installation? That always concerns me. I'm assuming the other drives are safe while the C drive is being reinstalled. Correct? Many thanks!

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I built this machine so there is no manufacturer links or instructions or recovery folder or disk. I built it and upgraded it from Win XP to Win 7 Home so the disks are here with Key. Should be simple and straightforward should it not? Thanks

If there is no OS on the HD when booting the installer to reinstall, it may reject an Upgrade key during install. If so leave it blank and afterwards do the quick Option 2 workaround in Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version to activate Upgrade version on new or wiped HD.
