Hey friend's

I installed windows 7 in my computer, it was just an experiment, as my computer configuration is intel P4 with 1 GB of RAM:sick:, i thought it would not install, but suprisingly it got installed, but now in normal the windows hungs very frequently, but works fine in normal mode, also am not able to access my external hard drive both in normal mode and safe mode. any suggestions.:(

P4 with 1 GB ram performs beautifully under Win 7. I only had 1 GB for years. Recently upped to 2 installed. No difference in perception, functionality or performance. And what I have now is OCZ Platinum, too! I play many of the latest games and do video encoding a lot. Still no difference and everything is well.

1GB is recommended as fine by me.

Even though its compatible with the configuration, why is that it freezes while working in normal mode and works fine in safe mode with networking.any suggestions.:)

Because something is being loaded with Windows in normal mode that your pc (read: Windows) doesn't like. A driver. A software.

msconfig

Put that in start menu search box and hit enter. Go to startup tab and uncheck everything by hitting disable all. Hit ok. Reboot to normal mode.

When that works well and it should, enable things one by one while rebooting. Once the pc gets messed up again, you know which it is.

If none of that helps, it's a driver and we can figure that one out too. (At least we know it's not lan adapter driver.)

Let us know.
