Hello forum, I am in no way a IT specialist but I have done a few installations over the years and completed a few upgrades of the different Windows OS. Recently I had (3) different dell laptops with the same error error code 0x80070017, when the process get to expanding Windows %. I then wiped the hard drives completely and tried to install again same error. I then ran XP on them added the Service pack and ran Windows 7 again same error, which is weird they loaded XP no problem at all. I then used the same Windows 7 disk on my daughters Acer laptop and it loaded without any issues what so ever. This baffles me. I used this disc plenty of times and never had an issue what could be causing the problems now. Thanks for any information provided in the post.
