i recently took a 500 gb ssd from my old windows 8.1 school laptop and put it in my computer. i have already cleaned it and converted it to mbr. i used an iso that had image updater applied to it. when i get to the "where do you want to install windows?" screen and select my ssd, it gives me the error "windows couldn't install to the location you chose. please check your media drive." alongside the error code "0x80300024". how do i get past this? csm is enabled btw

Try with only the target disk and the installation media connected

One possibility is if you have partitions on the target drive, that conflict with what Windows expects. If there are, use the delete partition option and let Windows work on a clean slate. You can adjust partitions later if you want something else. Pete
