oh okay i was starting to get confused... okay i have initiated the clean all - YEAH!!!! happy dance!!! lol i will sit back and wait for this to finish and move on to step 2 #2.
Now when you get to Step Two #2 just create a single partition to install Windows 7 to and later we'll discuss how to create another partition to save downloads to using Windows disk management once you have Windows 7 running good.
YEAH okay it is all done doing the clean! wahoo, now i am a little confused by step two... what exactly am i doing am i skipping the first step since you said step 2 in step 2?
So reading your above post that i didn't see till after i posted my posting i'm still not sure if i start at the beginning of step number 2 or step number 2. Sorry if i'm bothersome i just don't wanna make a mistake. and if i do start at the first step i see that you have to make it a certain size how do i know what size this is. If i don't do the first step then how do what to type, do i type in what i see like the active and exit (individually of course)
From the language screen you can click Next and then Install Now. Select Custom install and then the partition which you just made to install upon. If no partition exists yet, select Drive Options to create New partition, type in 100000 or whatever size you want, Format, Next.
The installer is mostly driver-complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Any drivers then missing in Device Manager can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or device.
Install updates and then programs slowly over time to gauge performance after each. Don't let any programs write themselves into msconfig>Startup as they become freeloaders on your RAM/CPU and can spy on you. I only allow AV and gadgets. Troubleshooting with MSCONFIG
Greg can you tell me from the above directions do i start with step two from the beginning if so how big do i make the partition? ... if i don't start it at the beginning what do i do in step two before i go to the install?
Greg that is really all super confusing i think i will wait until the person who was helping me before replies... he was explaining things very simple for me. sorry i'm not computer literate enough to be able ot understand half of what you just said.

I gave you the full steps to get a perfect install, along with links to the tools needed. Do you not want any of those?
It was clear to me you needed a little extra help which is why I took my time to do that. Instead of complaining that it is too hard, why not ask questions and get the benefit of learning how to make a perfect install?
well i am at step 2... i don't know what i'm doing.. you are suggesting a bunch of other stuff and i wasn't even allowed to ask questions to get ahead of myself lol.. sooooo i'm trying to just figure out what i'm suppose to be doing in step 2... do i type in create partition primary if so.... how do i know how much space to allocate to this... he orginially had type go to step 2 step 2... however... step 2, step 2 doesn't say any procedures that i can tell... other than a screen shot that i see the words "active" and "exit" as commands typed in... so my questions are.. what am i suppose to be doing.
I'm not at the install point see this is why i'm saying its just better to wait till he gets back on... If you looked at the entire conversation you'd see i've been working with someone. I'm not complaining that anything is too difficult in fact i've been working with someone else for a while and told him i have no problem doing everything from scratch. he has been helping me go through everything step by step. I'm sorry i don't understand the way you are explaining but just because i don't doesn't mean you have to be mean to me and tell me those things and act like i'm being lazy or not willing to work something. I just wiped out the install i did do and am trying to do the steps that the previous person who has been working with me is giving me. i'm not going to give them up when i'm literally in the middle of a command screen just because you want me to go to an install screen.
okay that is what i'm asking but he said to go to step 2 of step 2. as in skip step 1 of step 2. see how this could be confusing for someone who doesn't know what they are doing... and if he isn't here to help me and then someone else comes in to take over and doesn't explain this and just assumes i should know what they are talking about. i don't, i'm trying to figure this out.
No i'd like to do it the way he initially set me up with instructions. i do best with instructions if you say do this, do this do this. not a do this, don't do this, yada yada. i get too confused. i created the partition. so now i need to create a size correct?
IT doesn't matter whether or not you expected me to do them all at once or not. You should probably realize from the conversation prior that i may not be the most knowledgable in computers and that maybe posting that much information would be overwhelming and confusing me in the process. i appreciate your help.. i have a laptop up and i know how to make the screen shot larger so i can see the numbers. I promise i'm not an idiot, computers are just not my day job. i am just simply asking for you to help take me through things step by step. now that you have explain the question i had about step 2. i will work on that part and see how it goes. Thank you.
Computers are not my day job either. Keep in mind that we are volunteers here helping you out of kindness.
Many of us could be making good money doing this same work but have instead helped make SevenForums the leading tech site for Win7 with all volunteers.
Even Microsoft's own Installation forum has only a fraction of the traffic with salaried professionals staffing it.
I get that, i was happy to wait till the person who was helping me before answered me even if meant waiting till tomorrow. you acted as if i wasn't willing to do the work and i was, i have been, it is all i am saying.
Hello again, my apologies for leaving you hanging but it was my beddy-bye time.
Skip #1 in Step Two and at #2 in Step Two enter the commands one at a time and hit <enter> after each command.
That will create a single partition of 100GB to do the installation to, after that enter "exit" 2 times to close the command window and get back to the language screen to start the installation.
so i have completed step 1 and 2 and doing in the install process and clicked custom install. i assume i select the partition 1: windows 7 is that correct?
