Windows 7 installation freezes on Starting Windows

THE PC IS SUPPLIED BY 10 THEREFORE upgraded OF 7 TO 10 SO BACK TO PREVIOUS VERSION IS NOT!
I bought a laptop Acer Aspire E1-522


The person working on this laptop can not handle Windows 10
I'd like to put Windows 7 on it
But Windows 10 I actually do not want to say I would leave it like
So I really want a dual boot with Windows 10 and Windows 7
Formatting is not an option for me because I like the original recovery conservation.
According to the Internet Windows 7 64bit work with UEFI and with GPT
According to that site only works with GPT UEFI and not the legacy mode

Well I have an official Windows 7 disc with Windows 7 ultimate i boot from the disk everything is fine until Windows is starting or running after a few seconds the letters that together
I take Legacy mode the setup is doing fine but I can GPT forget ...
What I really want is that the setup does UEFI so that I can install to GPT.

Hello and welcome Jonas mate form what I can make out you have a machine with 10 pre installed and want to add 7 as a dual boot?

I read somewhere on the internet try once the Windows 8 installation with the install.wim from the Windows 7 installation
surprisingly the installation worked directly
When the laptop went restart then came Starting Windows register is updating
When the laptop reboots and comes back Starting Windows again, and he kept coming back to hang...
yeah i would install windows 7 (dualboot) on a pre installed windows 10 pc

Jonas I really don't know what you want - if it is 10 then follow this Windows 10 - Clean Install - Windows 10 Forums and mate you need only to install it on a cleaned/new drive then use the generic activation the your 7 Ultimate key to get 10 PRO installed.
The drive with Ultimate on it just put it aside until you decide what to keep though you will ne using the 7 key for the activation I guess. But at least you could get data off of it for the new install.

I would install windows 7 on a GPT disk (UEFI mode)
As dualboot with 10
I go not format my disk for the recovery partition

Well mate it is your choice but just remember if things go south then you have no way of getting back easily as there are plenty of folks who have tired upgrading and dual booting only to find they have a heck of a mes to try and sort out.

I really do think you should try 10 on another drive but as I said the choice (and budget) is yours.

Just let us know how you go.
