IMO, coming down to two thnigs.
You need to find
1) A known good DVD Drive.
2) A known good Windows 7 disk.
I thought about using the 64 bit disk but my system has some hardware compatibility issues with 64 bit.
Since the DVD Drive reads time after time, why do you still suspect the DVD Drive? I do not mean to be challenging you thoughts; just trying to learn.
But will the DVD Drive fully read DVD's?
I must defer to your judgement at this point because I lack technical background to do otherwise.
I will work on finding a substitute DVD Drive.
