windows 7 it keeps telling me password is incorrect

When I try to log in on windows 7 it keeps telling me password is incorrect, but I know it’s the right one .When I log in via safe mode it accepts the password with no problem
I have changed the password a few times but when I reboot it says wrong password
So I need to start safe mode etc. again can anyone help regarding this

Hi Goodwinteam, welcome to the Seven Forums.

As you can log in to Safe Mode using your password I see no reason for using any tools to reset the password.

Simply log in to Safe mode, go to Control Panel > Users and remove your password (see tutorial).

Now exit Safe Mode, log in normally without password, go to Control Panel > Users and set a new password (tutorial). It should work now.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve followed those steps but after a reboot or restart it does it again to you think if I delete the user credentials this will this solve the problem or could it be malware?

You could of course scan for malware but I do not think so.

My suggestion is to remove password in Safe Mode as I told in my previous post, then still in Safe mode run the Windows System File Checker SFC (tutorial), shut down the PC, restart and log in to Windows normally without a password.
