Torchwood. Thank you for your suggestion. I tried the F8 boot option, but there is still no keyboard or mouse input.

Well, I finally gave up. I have (mostly) rebuilt everything on another SSD and have cloned that to the problem disk. So there is no longer any way to find out if there was a solution.

I feel like a real noob with this problem. And I was a software engineer at the company which created some items for Windows, including Disk Manager and System Restore.

I really appreciate all of the assistance from you folks.

I see there is a way to mark this thread as "Solved". Too bad there isn't a way to mark it "I gave up".
