windows 7 laptop keyboard problem

Hi, i have an issue with windows 7.
when promted to enter the password to go on the desktop, i type the correct password and it tells me that i have entered an invalid username/password, but when i click on the "on screen keyboard" and click the password its valid!:sarc:

i try opening notepad to see if the keyboard was messed up, but its not, the keybaord is fine.

Does anyone knows how to fix this?

Maybe something as simple as an added space that isnt seen. try erasing it and re-entering it.

No, i made sure there wasn't any added space, i counted the digits and it matched the password lenght.

The passwords are case sensitive; the caps lock isn't on is it?

I also made sure caps wasn't active. thank you for the welcome

One more thing, when i hold down FN and type the password, it works, and takes me to windows.
