Hello,

In addition, can you please Download, Install and Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector so that we can see a signal issue or interference.
To run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector, double click the Xirrus icon on your Desktop, you may use the Windows 7 snipping tool to crop or Paint by tapping the Print screen key on your keyboard, open up Paint (Click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>Paint) then choose Edit from the Menu and select Paste, then save it and please attach the file on your next post.

Here is what you asked for hope this helps!

From this it appears that you are using WEP security with no encryption, this isn't very safe or secure but more importantly your wireless G connection may be more reliable if you change the security and encryption to something more modern and safe like WPA2 security with AES encryption.

Windows 7 approved drivers are not made to work with WEP security so don't expect much from it as it's easily hacked and not secure at all.

You should go into your routers wireless setting and try changing to WPA2 with AES encryption, most every Windows 7 approved driver works best with these settings. You will also need to make these changes in the wireless profile in Windows. Network and Sharing Center>Manage Wireless Connections....

The channel selection looks ok but you might try using another channel to see if the connection quality improves or not.

Looks better now, if you keep having the disconnection problems you should try changing channels then check Xirrus to see which channel gives the best performance and reliability. Finding the best channel can take a bit of trial and error, over time the best channel will change depending on which channels your neighbors are using.

Yes the Xirrus snip that you requested was quite useful for diagnosing this problem as per usual.

Dialing in wireless settings seems to be a bit of an art these days. ;)

wifi keep switching off after a Windows update on my ASUS laptop

An automatic Windows 7 update on 12th August 2015 added some icon on the bottom of my screen including a INTEL wifi program which now causes my computer to drop the internet while I am working on it.

As well as being annoying to have to run the Wifi trouble shooter every 10 or so minutes. it also causes the loss of data I was typing into the internet screen.

Please can you help me to restore my computer so that it logs on automatically and stays on whilst I have the computer on.

Thank you
