I'm attempting to run Windows Live Mail. I got my two email accounts set up, but now when I try to run it, nothing happens. I've checked the processes and programs but nothing is there. Anybody else having this problem?
Also I forgot mention that that to use the program, Right click on the WinMail.exe file and send a shortcut to the desktop then rename it to Windows Mail.
Then go to you start button and right click on the startup folder and select properties then location and click on find target and move your short cut to that folder and then click on pin to start menu.
Not I. Nor anyone I know of.

Managed to find a fix to make Windows Mail default.
I've rebooted and it is still showing as default.

Hmmm, Didn't work for me. Tried it twice. Reboot-nothing.

Actually it is partially working here. If I click on an email link at a website, WM handles it. If I open an email on my desktop, notepad opens it. I set it to notepad originally as it was a way to read them while on the desktop. I still can't select WM anywhere to try to associate it with .eml files.

), but that. You can get Windows Mail to run in Win 7.
But only if you install Win 7 as an upgrade over the top of Vista.
You will then find the Windows Mail program still exists but the WinMail. exe file has be zapped. Sorry, disabled.
If you have Vista on another drive , just copy over the exe to your desktop and it should work.
Another way is to save a copy of WinMail.exe in some location before you install Win 7 and use this to replace the disabled one.
