The start up process stops while drivers are loaded.
This is the last thing that happens after a series of events:
-I tried to reinstall a HP C6180 AIO using the package downloaded from HP, after I had to uninstall the printer -it didn't work any longer- that I had installed with the package for Vista;
-when restarting W7, the process stopped with a strange message "...ema...deportivo_" (meanwhile, Registry Mechanic cleared some files and links and dlls it considered "dead"),
-I tried to repair W7 (startup repair, restore).But if once it seemed to work, at the next startup I saw the same scenario;
-after several attempts, even a safe start is no longer possible;
-moreover, roundly once in every 2 attempts to restart, my RAID0 HD is no longer seen (there is not a BIOS problem, as i have a Vista on an other partition on the same PC and it works normally)

I'm looking for a different solution than reformatting the partition and reinstall W7.

Hello hg2051, welcome to Seven Forums!

Have you tried a System Restore to a point before the HP AIO, it's worth a try and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

I tried a System Restore to a point before the HP AIO, but it didn't fix anything.
Moreover, I lost older restore points.

You have win 7 x64. Go to another computer that also has the 64bit version of win 7 installed.

Made a SYSTEM REPAIR DISC. A system repair disc made on a 32 bit machine will NOT work.

Once you have the disc, boot from the disc and choose the system repair option.

START | type System Repair | Enter key | Create Disc button
