Hi. I have a couple of PCs running Win7 Home Premium x64. On one, when I right click and choose nVidia Control Panel (which I still find useful), up comes the window and all is well. On the other, nVCP shows up in the context menu, but when I click on it, nothing happens. I have spent some time trying to re-install it on the machine from a setup file, but no change...

Just wondering, as they run the same o/s, it should surely be possible to install it by copying files and registry entries over from the PC on which nVCP is working fine. But anyone know exactly what would need to be copied for this to work? Still Googling this, but no luck so far.

Thanks for any help with this.

Hi martinlest-

Run msconfig.exe on the problem system.

Is the NVIDIA Display Driver Service running?

Well, it's not the first time that simply posting a question here has magically 'fixed' a problem! I just tried this out, to answer your question - and the full nVidia CP window appeared. I have no explanation, as I have done this many times with the same (negative) result.

Yet more evidence that computers have a mind of their own and, in general, are set against their owners! I'll post back if the window is conspicuous once again by its absence.

Thanks.

(nVCP shows in Task manager when it's running, BTW).
