I have a little while ago build up my pc,

and bought a new system development package of win. vista home premium 64 bit.
with in my foresight i had the new 7 totally for free.
Then i got my win 7 home premium, formatted my system and installed the upgrade just fine as a clean installation.

But in home premium are some features you have in the ultimate or professional version disabled, and some of these features i just want to use.

now i do the education on school for IT, and my school has gaven me a msdnaa acount.
Now on that msndnaa acount where i can download windows 7 professional.
My question is:

Now i want to install the home premium on my laptop, and the profesional on my pc

can i install the home premium which is of course already activated on my pc, can i install it on my laptop.

i dont need a explanation of how i install a os, cause i already know such things.

Already Thanks!

grtz. ome tony

(p.s. sorry for bad language, im dutch)

Was it preactivated Windows or do you have product key?
In both cases I think you can install it on another PC.
But I am not 100% sure, so better wait for someone confirm it aswell.

As far as I am aware if you uninstall it from one machine you can reinstall it on another, you will of course have to reactivate it again and that might mean a call to Microsoft on the toll free number.

@jav: i bought a vista home premium system develoment kit, cause i build my own computer
but i want to thank you both, for the very quick reply, i certanly going to try it.

but, in the thread you linked to, there is also in the question, but there aint a real good answer to it, doesn't microsoft think you have the installation on two pc's cause thats the only worry i have about.

I am pretty sure that when you activate your copy of Windows there is a fingerprint of your system that uniquely identify's your system and is sent sent to Microsoft so that they can identify your machine from the millions of others.

I had a similar experience in XP a few years ago when I rebuilt my system with new Motherboard, hard drives and graphics card. I had to reactivate it again but there was no problem I just had to use the automated toll free number.

Any retail copy of Win7 besides Builder's OEM can migrate to another PC.

Upon reactivation, it might require a quick robo call to exchange numbers which is how MS deactivates it on the old machine to activate it on the new one.

They are only concerned that it is on one machine at a time.
