Windows 7 RC 64-bit

Tried to load a 64-bit IPSec vpn client and received a bsd.
Rebooted into safe mode and perform system recovery.
All went well until reboot.
Now system continually returns to System Recovery Options even when I boot to safe mode.

Please help, really don't want to have to do a complete reinstall.

Hi steiner and welcome to sevenforums.

Do you have a backup to restore from? have you tried booting from the win 7 dvd? we could also porbably use some sys specs.

Looks like you have Diagnostic Tools set as the default option in your BCDEDIT

I would boot into recovery mode like you always do, then start a command prompt and type "BCDEDIT"

find your windows partition and note the identifier (the top header in the mess)

type bcdedit /default [identifier goes here without the brackets obviously]\

then type bcdedit again to check to see if it is default, and reboot

should work, if not maybe boot into Knoppix or some other linux livecd and set the system boot partition from there
